    Al Couthen

    Al started as quarterback for the American School for the Deaf from 1958 to 1960. The record was 23 wins, 2 losses and 1 tie. As a Senior, he was co-captain of an undefeated team. He played on both sides of the ball as a quarterback and safety. In 1960, Al was on the All-American Team for the Deaf American Magazine as quarterback.

    At Gallaudet College, Al started in every game for four years (1961-65). As a Junior and Senior, he was the co-captain of the team. He was selected as All Conference quarterback in the Mason Dixon Conference for two yeras and received the Most Oustanding Player in the Small College level by Washington D.C. Offical Association in 1963.


    Leroy Gerhard

    One of the football greats at Pennsylvania School for the Deaf. Leroy's work on defense was outstanding. He also played semi pro ball.
